EXCELLENT CONDITION

Autographed tri-fold (6.25” x 9” each sheet) all Josef Suk concert program by the Czech Philharmonic, November 25, 1939.  A formal Talich has boldly signed on the front cover on a full-length photograph with his arm on a music stand.

Talich is considered to be the most important Czech conductor of the 20th Century.  After a years stint at Concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic, he pursued conducting studies with the orchestra’s conductor Artur Nikisch.  Talich was Music Director, Chief Conductor, or Founder of the following orchestras; The Czech Philharmonic, The Scottish National Orchestra, Konsertforegenin Stockholm, the National Theatre of Prague, the Czech Chamber Orchestra and the Slovak National Orchestra.  He also taught a number of very fine conductors including  Karel Ancerl, Sir Charles Mackerras and Milan Munclinger.

 

Josef Suk (1874-1935) was an important Czech composer, known for his symphonic works.  A favorite pupil of Antonin Dvorak, he married his daughter Otilie.
