The violinist performed a varied and long concert as part of the Great Performers series at Avery Fisher Hall.  Donal Henahan in his “New York Times” review, described Milstein then 74 as a “wonder” and “flawless musicianship”!

Unusual Veronés of Madrid presentation photograph on heavy board by the legendary French piano virtuoso. Planté dedicates the photograph to René Baschet, the publisher and founder of l’Illustration and Contemporary Gallery Revue periodicals.

The pianist sends a postcard photograph of his home “Ermitage” in St. Avit to his friend René Baschet upon his induction as a Commander in the Légion d’honneur in 1928.  He writes a congratulatory letter on the verso. An interesting Planté souvenir!
