The composer writes to his publisher Philippe Heugel about his new song cycle, “Calligrammes” and invites him to New York for the World Premiere, which happens to be his American debut.  He also offers him the score of Four St. Francis Prayers.

The Belgian composer and organist autographs and dedicates the first edition score of his 1954 op. 62, “Missa Festiva” to Walter and Evelyn Hinrichsen, the founder of music publisher “C. F. Peters” in the United States.  Peeters most performed mass.

The composer autographs & inscribes a privately bound first edition partitur score of his titanic 3rd symphony “The Organ” op. 78 to composer and Paris Conservatoire Director Ambroise Thomas. Thomas was the first champion of the work.

Early autographed letter signed by the composer, still using his initial “J”. He asks the librettist Thomas Sauvage to return the copy of the libretto of his earliest Italian opera “Romilda e Costanza” in person.  We include an original period lithograph.

Autographed full length photograph of the iconic Italian composer by the French photographer Numa Prosper Blanc Labarthe of Paris. The image dates to 1864 and is likely inscribed to British composer & Chopin pupil Henry Brinley Richards’ wife.

Scarce original 1939 partitur edition of the composer’s great 5th Symphony which was his first success after his 1936 denunciation.  This score is one of 600 printed after the 1937 success and is as luxurious a printing as the Soviets issues at the time.
