Excellent condition

The composer autographs and inscribed a Henri Manuel of Paris presentation photograph to the music educator Germaine Compagnon.  A wonderful image of the composer and founder of the Schol Cantorum reading a book.

The French librettist and poet writes to Jules Claretie when they were working on an opera based on Claretie’s 1874 work, “Les Muscadins”, Chabrier co-signs.  Claretie eventually decided to ignore the composer and writer, which created anger and resentment.  c. 1881.

Fine condition

The French composer writes a return letter on the verso of a picture postcard to his pupil Monic Cecconi who had won the 1966 Prix de Rome competition.  Dutilleux won the prize in 1938 and taught Cecconi at the École Normale de Musique in Paris.

The French composer writes to orchestral administrator and impresario Enrich Straram requesting the return of several manuscripts.  Straram writes in the margin a list of the works in his possession including the Composer’s Poème pour Violin et Orchestre. Scarce.
