Autographed 8” x 10” photograph of the conductor and the Utah Symhpony Orchestra, to their Buenos Aires based South American tour manager, Gerry Uhlfelder June-July, 1971. They are posed in the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. Abravanel built the Utah Symphony from a small town orchestra into a World class band from 1947-1979. He recorded over 100 labeled recordings, including one of the very first Mahler symphony cycles on records. He came to Mahler as a pupil and friend of Bruno Walter. The photograph is autographed by Abravanel and most of his first desk musicians, including: Oscar Chausow - concertmaster, Stephen B. Ivey -trombone, Michael Vance - flute, Ardean Watts - piano/celeste and associate conductor, William R. Johnson - percussion, Gary Post, Martin Zwick - clarinet, Sally Peck - viola, Eugene Foster - flute, Darrell W.
